Tonight I'm popping along to the IMA to attend a talk by acclaimed fashion photographer Max Doyle, which has tongue firmly placed in cheek been titled "How NOT to Make a Fashion Magazine".
Stolen from the IMA website:
"Over the last eighteen years, fashion photographer Max Doyle has been in heavy demand, with clients like Vogue, The Face, Interview, GQ, Levis, Seafolly, and Wrangler. He also edits and publishes the ‘suitably pretentious’ fashion magazine Doingbird. Doyle talks with Suzi Vaughan (Professor, Fashion, Queensland University of Technology) about his photography, his magazine, and the future of fashion publishing. Seating limited."
[Edit: after attending the talk it seems that the title was not tongue in cheek at all. Still, it is great that Doingbird has survived.]
